A Swamp Scene, Anhinga

Anhinga are diving birds, as such they need to dry their feathers after fishing underwater for a while. Most times the birds will be in an open area, however with luck I can catch one deeper in the swamp. Wings spread and surrounded by the trees and moss makes for nice environmental images.

    1. Actually it’s a tropical version of a Cormorant. No hook on the bill, they stab prey. A little bigger, and meaner. They are from South America, moved up here over time. The name ‘Anhinga’ is native Brazilian for Snake, or Demon bird.
