This is a continuation of our visit to the Beidler Forest property, Four Hole Swamp, looking for the Protonotary Warblers.

Click here to see the first article.

They have arrived from South and Central America, now the Cypress Knees (with nesting holes) are home. Vivid color so have a decent chance of spotting one, not much color in the dark swamp.

Another interesting thing about these little guys is their feather design. Smooth, no texture. The only other bird I know like this is the Cedar Waxwing, also smooth and porcelain like.

A mid sized lens may not have been the best choice, however their preferred swamp environment is very obvious.
