We have a fairly large group of these big ducks in our nearby swamp. I see them on the opposite side of where ever I am.
Finally got a decent chance the other day. Except they were in the ACE Basin off a dirt road. I never even had a chance to leave the car.
I’ll take it as a win.
That was my experience as well, they were always “over there”.

In shape they look a bit like an Egyptian goose, but no black belly, actually completely different 🙂
LOL, I always thought they looked like a goose too. These birds nest in trees. I read up on them, they are a bit of an outcast subspecies. And they do whistle, not quack LOL
