Reeds And Cane, Gators And Herons

Reeds And Cane, Gators And Herons

Title here sounds like a country western song LOL.

Eventually the dead and dry cane falls into the marsh and new slim shoots take over. If the water has a high salt content I guess it might stay like this. Water here is all based on the flow and open trunks of the Ashley River.

Personally I think it makes for great photography.

The birds and Alligators move around here between two different marshes and the larger river. What you find today is not the same as tomorrow.

Great Blue Herons get in here and disappear. It’s near perfect camouflage for them.

Above, if you look close you can see a Lesser Yellow-legs on the right side, deeper in the cane.
