He’s not flying yet, but many of this years Tricolors are ‘branching’. This makes it a little more difficult for the adults when they return to feed them. They seem to know where their own chicks are, but who knows they may be feeding the first ones they spot.
The next big trick is to teach them to fly. That will be a circus.
He is really so cute. Soon they will learn to fly. Meanwhile, they are very cautious and dependent on their parents. Great photographs of Tricolored Herons!!!
