The other morning we got up in the dark (gasp) and went down to the Ashley River and marshes early. Not having been there for a while I didn’t know what if anything we would see.
It seems that most of the birds that left the local rookery have made a stop here. There were a decent number of Egrets, Herons, and other birds all working the low water.

This Great Egret was one of the first I photographed. Most were casual about having two intruders at that hour of the morning.
