The Spoonbill have not been feeding in any of the marshes I have been around. The water has been too deep for them now.
However they haven’t gone too far. The other day a group flew in to perch on some old trees they feel safe in. No feeding, just a place to get sun and nap.

Most were full adults meaning in a short time they will head down to Florida to breed. It’s a short trip for both the Spoonbill and us, we will most likely follow for some rookery photographs.
Lucky you, Ted. I keep missing the few that show up here and unfortunately, they don’t breed right in our immediate area. But maybe we’ll make a bit of a trip to one of those. Look forward to seeing the nesting!
Nothing like a baby spoonbill, odd but cute.
