We knew the light would be an issue, but we hoped for a sunrise with nice clouds.
Well, light was an issue and we did have clouds for sunrise. Lots of them. But once you have gotten up in the dark and gone out to the bigger marshes it’s too late and too far not to wander around.
I had watched this spot, and shot some before these. It looked interesting even though it was dark.
I never did see the smaller third Alligator until later on my PC.
This was a good surprise.
Wow, those are some big gators!!🐊
That’s home of the big guys. This part of the marsh rarely has even midsized gators. Females even lay eggs about a mile away. It gets very loud here in May 😝

A few years back I stood on top of a wooden trunk while the big ones were feeding on a fish run. Used a wide lens, caught 64 gators in one photo, shooting straight down. I will never beat that 😂😂😂😂

It sounds scary to be walking around there in the dark Ted. They are big, or so they seem. Are you worried about tripping on one or something?
They are very big around there. I have only ‘bumped’ into one a few times. For the most part they are afraid of people…even when they are the size of a car 😂😂. Fascinating critters.
