When out at Pelican rookeries you are almost always facing the sand banks. There’s a lot of birds to watch and your next shot is there. But not always.

The Pelicans are arriving back at the nests all the time. They come in low and from the opposite direction you are looking. Like this one. Most of the time the zoom right past 😁.
