Good Hiding Spot, Night Heron

Good Hiding Spot, Night Heron

Here was a shady place I didn’t know about for a long time. Big Live Oaks and Spanish Moss hang over the far side of a rookery pond. Various birds come here to drink, get water for their young, or just hide from the sun. Makes sense and so obvious yet I didn’t walk very here for years 😢.

The Black-crowned Night Herons are here more than most. Looking up through the branches will usually give you a good opportunity.
