The ground moves, it really does. And it’s creepy. And it’s best viewed large LOL.
I’ve written before it’s the small things here to be aware of. Well, here’s a few (thousand).
There are trails and cuts in the marshes when the tide goes out. Below was one of them, and for a moment I thought about going for a marsh shot from here. Then the ground was shifting.

These are Fiddler Crabs. Small crabs with a single large claw. I can’t imagine how many there were. And this was not the largest group I’ve seen.

Click this link for more information…they are strange critters.

Look at them all !!!

The good news is they don’t fly, like some other ‘strange’ things we have in the Lowcountry.
I’m starting to lose count – alligators, snakes, wild boar, killer crabs by the thousands… sounds like a real paradise ! 🤣🤣
🤣😂🤣, LOL the most dangerous thing about the crabs are the creep factor of watching a crowd of them. That’s enough for me.
I wondered about the “fiddler” part now I know. As you said a good thing they don’t fly 😏
This fits the ‘found on a walk’ perfectly. 😂😂😂🤣
I’m going with Bushcrafter on this one 😩 Sure is a “paradise” of a different sort. Whooo, ya definitely got a whole lot a shakin going on there. 😏
Skin Crawlin too
I’m surprised they weren’t immediatly eaten up by the wading birds. Very interesting moment.
These grass marshes go from here to the Georgia border, at least. That means a gazillion trillion of these 😂😂
