A closeup of some young Black-bellied Whistling Ducks that blocked an old dirt road, and didn’t move for a good while.
At the time I thought they were without any ‘adult supervision’. Turns out there were two adults. Maybe they were just not completely ready to fly.
They did finally waddle off to the water and swim away from the road. This is not a ‘road’ with any traffic, so no danger of a car. Wandering in the wide open is more likely to attract the Bald Eagles.

Very nice! They appear much larger than the ducks we normally see here.
These are. Almost goose size. The swamp/marshes don’t have large flocks (yet). Down around the Georgia border, Savannah, we do. And there are tons of them and the loud whistles are something I wouldn’t want to hear a lot of.
Only rare sightings here but I’d love to see and hear one.
Nice. And by the way, what tune were they whistling? Bada Bing, Bada Boom. If I could do a snare drum, I would. Cymbal included. 😳😎🤓
