The Duck Weed is piled up pretty deep in this side trail. It will die back after a few frosty mornings but we haven’t had enough cool weather yet for that.

As they walk through here small fish must break the surface, or at least make the thick weeds move. Birds must catch enough here otherwise we wouldn’t find them here.

It’s a puzzle, how they can still find fish under the weeds.
My theory is they see the surface shift slightly. If the weed is thick fish come to the surface for air and something to eat.
Disclaimer, I have no scientific evidence to back this up. 😆. ‘Older’ people have the unique ability to ‘make crap up’ in their mind that seems completely plausible. 🤣
