A Great Egret tucked up a little just standing in the open marsh, waiting for the sun to warm things up.
it really wasn’t all that cold, it’s South Carolina! But I guess standing in an open marsh all night does make things cooler.

(I don’t try to change peoples work, it is PERFECT how you want it to be) so don’t take it in any way other than me thinking out loud about your amazing work, I was just thinking, of this shot in a portrait crop so the bird was a closer subject and the amazing reflection you got, more prominent. Wonder how that would look, not a critique as I say just my brain 🧠shouted it at me! I hope you’re well! 😁
😆, I didn’t take it any other way. My logic (how my brain works) is the world doesn’t need another closeup of a bird. Now, that comes from my living here and working around a good number of ‘beyond great’ nature photographers. This place is a Mecca for every wildlife photog you have ever seen or read about. Anyway, my thoughts are most always to shoot wider. Get some perspective on the environment.
So, just my style…and BTW, you explained yourself very well in the first comment…go for it 🤗
