Not a bird with any real color, though there is some white of the wings. The complete opposite of the previous article. In the US they are primarily in the southeastern states. There are so many in South Carolina that if a large shadow moves across the back of my house I assume a Black Vulture has flown over.
Vultures are known for their large wings and gliding in the air currents. However, the Black Vulture doesn’t glide as well as the larger Turkey Vulture. Also they tend to follow they tend to follow the Turkey Vulture to find food.

These ‘lovely’ birds nest around me, along with their turkey cousins. 🙂
The number here is shocking to a Yankee when they first come down 🤣.
