We went down a road that is usually closed. I’m guessing it’s been two years since we have been here. Last time the dirt track was falling into the marsh, and we had just enough room to squeeze by. Backing up would have been just as bad.
Taking advantage of the opportunity we stopped under some big oaks and dug into the provisions… well it was Yogurt, fruit, energy bars, the normal roughing it feed.
We wandered a little while and found this scene at a turn in the track. The old hunting blind is now owned by Cormorants, Coots, and Gallinule.

Note; photographed with an OM-1 (1), OM 12-100 f4, finished in Lightroom, DxO Filmpack.

Looks like two sentries at their posts.
I had forgotten this island had duck hunting once a year. The SC hunting licenses pay for the maintenance of the area. And this place is the largest marshland on the east coast.
