This plantation was home to the President of the First Continental Congress, signers of the Declaration of Independence, builders of the largest formal garden in the US, officers of the Revolutionary War army and Confederate Army, and is listed as a National Landmark. It’s kind of a big deal.

Every year people travel here to see the Azaleas and Camellias. On a good year all the acres bloom at the same time (along with Magnolia Plantation right down the road).
We have been wandering there, and it’s a good year.
I’ll put it on my list of South Carolina places to visit!
Early spring, unless you are a real formal garden person. While it’s known to be beautiful, I’m not a fan of structure like that. Ellen visits all the time. This year was the first time I went twice for the colors.
