The Blood Red coloring is starting.

During breeding season the Ibis gets deep red on the areas not covered by feathers. So red in fact it looks like the color of blood.

I think he’s early, Ibis are among the last to nest each year. So late they take over the Night Heron nests and rookery in Port Royal after the herons have finished and moved on. That’s mid summer.
