I always love to capture that moment when a bird leaps onto the air, when they take flight. I think of it as ‘blind faith’.
I never gave it much thought until I started to photograph the big birds in these swamps, especially the young ones.
When they learn to fly here in the swamps, a young bird must eventually jump from the branches, into the air, assuming they will fly.
Down below there are Alligators. These birds are well aware of them too.


Some birds definitely take a different approach on parenting from community stewardship to the toss out to the waters below like the Limpkins. One thing for sure, none of them give out participation trophies ha!
