Being in the muddy marsh water hid all views of his hide coloring. By the head size he looks to be maybe 3 to 4 feet. That’s the magic size when their growth spurt freezes.

I was certainly glad to see him, the morning was leaning towards being one of those rare duds. It’s hard not see anything to shoot here, but it does happen.
