A few more random shots of some flowers. These were along the edge of a swamp pond. Light for the shot was fair at best, and I only had a long lens. The colors were interesting so a few shots and I moved on.
Below was a coloring I don’t remember seeing before. It was washed out because the light hit it wrong. Trying to edit in ON1 using some basic tools… I was right about the colors. Never knew this plant was around.

Next I captured one of the usual suspects around the swamps. After using Lightroom for a long time I have a few simple steps to clean up a basic shot like this. But I want to use ON1 more often, so…
Two masks were used. Easy in LR, ON1 is still new to me. After a few false starts (bad user errors) I just darken and softened the background. I also masked the main flower, changed all kinds of things, and ultimately quit dinking around and just lightened the expose a hair 😆😆. Which I didn’t really need to do but I was already knee deep in some masks and was determined to learn something.

I’m still impressed with the speed and smooth operating performance of ON1. I did finally manage to make it unhappy though. I had to stop and cancel something I was doing. However LR does that every day at some point.
One of my goals with ON1 is to use it on the road on a backup PC, or at least have this as an option. Otherwise we would need another subscription with Adobe. Personally I’m fine with the subscription model and cost for Adobe. It’s always been the best at what it does. But I want options and started testing editors a few years ago. They all failed for me at some point.
Currently I have the basic version of ON1. I paid US $50.00, a one time fee. I think that’s the least I’ve ever paid for an editor, and it’s proving to be the best of the lot.

The colors are great Ted ! Have a great evening !
Thanks. Just sitting at home, waiting for the air conditioner repair. It’s currently about 100 f outside. No AC keeps up with that, but the units are rattling, and groaning. Hope we make it.
These look amazing Ted. There is a softness to them.
Thanks. It was the colors that got me lol
Nice shot Ted! 🙌
Thanks. I seem to have more flowers shots than usual lately
Very pretty Ted.
