Ellen just shakes her head when I start to tell people about my ‘bodacious bargain basement’ find. I probably get a little carried away.
An old Olympus 40-150 r lens was used for these shots. It’s really old, almost completely plastic, has had multiple owners, and I paid the grand total of $ 60.00 US (including shipping).
The camera used here was the OM-1 (1). Combining these gives you a good light weight nature photography kit.
BTW, the images were finished using the basic version of ON1 Photo RAW, a one time fee of $ 50.00.

😆😆 yep. Every piece of gear I have is now much smaller than when I used Canon.
I love stories like this. A great reminder that it’s not always about owning the most expensive lens. A capable camera, a simple lens and a photographer who knows how to use both can produce wonderful results. Stories like this help keep gear discussions in perspective. 👍
Every once in a while I put it on and just use only that lens no matter what comes long. Makes me pay attention to how I’m shooting. lol
