Marsh Tree, Black And White

Marsh Tree, Black And White

Looking over at another marsh dike.

The fore ground is actually water covered in thick Duck Weed. The close plants are tall grass. In most places much taller than a person. Here it was about 6 feet tall.

The dikes here are not very far apart in this marsh area. Most were first dug by hand using enslaved labor a few hundred years ago. No telling now why they were created like this.

    1. Much worse. There have always been Alligator, toxic snakes, and horrible insects. However only around 80 years ago there were Red Wolves,, and Panthers. We have lost all the big cats, however not that long ago we captured the last of the wolves and moved them to preserves in the next state.

    2. Wow, that sounds like quite a place to grow up around! Hard to imagine what it must have been like 80 years ago, with so much more wildlife around.

    3. Some places are still just plain wild. Some of the recent posts, images from the ‘shot too many to publish all at once’ category were taken a few hours apart. The recent Screech Owl, River Otter, and Big Gator are an example.

Unfortunately we have too many people to remain like this.
