The Great Egret is bigger and wanted the the old branch.
So, he just landed where he wanted, the smaller Snowy Egret was basically evicted.
Off to the right, lower down, an Anhinga watched all the action.
Ultimately the larger Egret settled in, not without complaining from the Snowy though.
If you stand around these marshes eventually all kinds of things happen.
Amazing that the Snowy gave ground – usually they fuss and charge quite a bit.
When the bigger Great Egret starts I think it’s in his best interest to back off. I’ve seen it go bad 😳
