When looking for these small Herons in Port Royal I walk back and forth along the edge of the Pine and Cypress swamp area they live in. You can’t see very far into the trees, it’s a hole through branches we always look for.

This time I was lucky to find the Yellow-crowned Night Heron through a clear view. Most times it’s a spot you already had seen, but this time a bird had walked into view.
