While this doesn’t look like a young bird, her gullet is extra large, like juveniles. You can see it on her throat. Anhinga can, and will, eat most anything. The big gullet helps.

These shots were taken just a few weeks ago, by now these birds have begun to shift a few hundreds miles south. They don’t actually migrate, kind of ease down to northern Florida.
