This morning we turned the heat on for the first time. A sure sign the seasons have changed. Also we are acclimated to southern living, cold certainly doesn’t describe where I live 😆.
The tropical Moon Flowers are still blooming nightly with at least a dozen this morning. It’s pitch black when I’m up and moving now, another sign of the changes.

Beautiful photos, Ted! I’m an early bird myself, usually up between 6 and 7 AM CET. It’s still pitch black here at that time, and the temperatures are currently around 39–43°F. That’s when I have to let our little girl, a 10-year-old Miniature Pinscher, out for her morning rituals 🙂 The first light doesn’t usually start showing until around 8 AM.
We’ve gone from late summer to something that feels very much like winter in barely two weeks. Just a couple of weeks ago, I was still walking outside in a T-shirt in the mornings. Now it’s a thick sweater. The climate here really doesn’t seem to behave as it used to. We used to have a much more gradual transition, with temperatures dropping gently and fairly steadily. These days, you never know what to expect. Hail and bitter cold one day, almost spring-like temperatures the next. You just have no idea anymore! 😄
