Road At Indian Fields, Monochrome
I think we even have a bit of urban sprawl here. The community was limited to 99 cabins/tents. Each has an address like anywhere else. Except I see several that have a half address. More than one cabin to a spot?
An asphalt road surrounds the buildings. It’s a great walk. Interesting because the back of the cabins face the road.
The community is laid out on a rough circle. The center field is home to a large open sided tabernacle, the house of worship. Like the old days of revival meetings services are held for a week, other time spent on community meetings and meals.

At 68a, Found On A Walk
Miscellaneous ‘stuff’ found around old cabins (tents) at Indian Fields, South Carolina. Built around 1848 many buildings have been passed down through generations.
Most of the year the area is empty with the exception of some random repairs or mowing by an owner.
For the past 176 years there has always been a Methodist camp revival meeting here in the early fall. This includes during the US Civil War (which was active in the area) and the Covid pandemic.
These old South Carolina campgrounds have been a favorite of mine to photograph, usually in monochrome, since we moved here. This is a unique environment, one largely unknow to most people outside this part of the south.

Years ago I would have thrown this away, too much grain. Now, shooting digital when I can shoot without any, I might keep it.
Has my taste and style changed, or just getting old.

You would think I’d remember. There aren’t that many subspecies.

A Snowy Egret in full flight passing low over the water.
A pure white bird in bright southern sun doesn’t always make for a good photograph. I find it very easy to lose the whites in glare. The new version of DxO Silver Efex has an updated filter option I wanted to try. I kept details on the wings here so that function what out well.
