One of the key subjects of this web site has not had much coverage lately. I tend to hunt out and photograph Alligators more than most. Some of the other photographers jokingly gave me the nick name ‘Gator Bait’.
I can’t totally ignore the big guys so I pulled a few shots from the ‘to do’ pile.
These were taken around the wildlife management areas in the ACE Basin. The basin is one of the largest marsh areas in the US. There may be more Alligators here than the entire human population of South Carolina.
A walk along the marshes or dikes is an adventure at every turn.

Please be careful – especially in the summer months when they are really active. I have scared a few in the Everglades and they in turn gave me a scare. 🙂
And it’s breeding season too 😃😃. Thanks for your concern. While at times we do work close, I have a healthy respect for them.
