US state flags have to be designed around a ceremonial crest, many colors, and a Latin line  similiar to ‘E Pluribus Greedus”. In other words pompous.

South Carolina has a simple Palmetto Tree and Half Moon. As flags go it’s not bad.

Anyway, we were standing outside a cafe in town waiting to get breakfast. It’s tourist season so lines are just a fact.

This building and flag were across the street. I decided to get a photo of the design.
