I had seen a web but then lost it as we walked to the get a shot of a Green Heron. I hate these things so I just kept glancing around…I have walked into these face first!
When Ellen made a motion to step in front of me for a clear shot I moved away…and turned back.
And there she is, hanging between us, right over Ellen’s shoulder while she is shooting happily away, oblivious to the impending doom.
As you can see I did take a few shots, different distances (I had to focus with my feet, way too close for the lens).
I was claim when I told her not to back up, something like “OMG, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY….”.
Clearly I took the opportunity to document just how xxx big these things are. I have wanted to get some perspective shots. Now I have them.
Note; I took this for my wife’s Facebook page but it is a fun photo so added it here. She’s a true pro and just shifted away and continued shooting LOL.

Those darn spiders, the hair raised up on my arm the second I saw your photo. They are not that big where I am.
These are huge compared to up north. And they still have another month or so to grow. About now there are plenty in the swamps. I don’t like them much either, except to photograph.
Good gosh, I’m still shuddering….. 😲
