I’ve never had a Night Heron sit and watch me photograph like this.

These were taken in the lower branches of a Mangrove Tree. A large and thick tree with plenty of shadows.

He felt safe being surrounded by water and had no intention of moving. That worked great for me, plenty of time to get the settings I wanted.

I think the bird was comfortable under the Mangrove branches, and of course surrounded by the water the trees live in. Didn’t matter we were close. Thanks.
