This is a favorite spot for Pileated Woodpeckers. The adults teach the young how to find food in this stand of trees.

I had time for just these shots of an adult. Not ready because I flinched as they all swarmed me.
These are the biggest Woodpeckers in North America. They are very common around here and I fear one of the big pines behind my house will drop on us…because when they start work the wood chips really fly.

I liked the title of your post ☺️
It worked given the subject…and photographer. Thanks 🙂
I really like your beautiful blog. A pleasure to come stroll on your pages. A great discovery and a very interesting blog. I will come back to visit you. Do not hesitate to visit my universe. See you soon.
Thank you for stopping by. This is years of my portfolio, 7,000+ pages, and at least 25,000 photographs from the swamps/marshes of the Lowcountry and around the world. I will come back to your web site, was there a little while ago.
