What a cool-looking butterfly, Ted. The first thing I noticed was the length of the tail–none of the skippers in my area have a long tail. I think yours is the aptly named Long-tailed Skipper (Urbanus proteus).
Thanks for the details. There have been plenty around but I have only tried to photo a few. Of course now I will be checking out the length of the little critters tails ππ for comparison.
Thanks. They seem to be the most common visitor to any blooms right now. The Lowcountry is a βwarmβ spot (hence tropical swamps) so flowers still bloom and critters still crit here πππ now.
