This peaceful scene was not going to last long.
Both birds are predators, and members of the Darter family. Oh, and aggressive.
The Anhinga had the high spot but when I looked away the Cormorant claimed it. This went back and forth until both went back to fishing.

Anhinga are usually south when the Cormorant show up. Instinctively they are competitors.
They get along well, I’ve seen them together in many occasions. Both are great hunters. 🙂
This was the first time I noticed them actually swimming and diving together.
