The sun was shining on the open water in the swamp, but the Cypress were now in shade.
And as luck would have it a Night Heron came flying right down the center.


These small Herons are fast but in this case I was ready.

The smaller Herons are nest building and they pick materials from the same general area used by Egrets and Great Blues.
I’ve had some practice at this spot. Which I need with these speedy little guys.
