There must be some type of sign, like a secret hand shake, that says ‘Just Ate, Not Hungry’.

The Snowy Egret knows he is not alone. I’m sure he is also aware of just how fast these guys can actually move. I’ve seen it, like lightening.
Look close and you will see the Egrets reflection in the water, almost on top of the gators. That’s too close.

The birds do this all the time and get away with it, for the most part. Heck, somewhere in this web site is a photograph of a Spoonbill biting ones tail.
Still…

ππ Thank you
These scenes have always made me nervous! Crazy birds!!
At times I wonder why the are not extinct.
Good point.
Amazing how they do that, I have not looked it up yet, but do alligators hibernate? The one hear has not been seen since the night temperatures have gone into the 50’s.
Hi, not hibernation, but they find a place to sleep until the sun gets warmer. They donβt eat but will move around to different spots. Their body being cold blooded slows down. But they show up.
I looked up the term for how they are in low temps, they go not a state of torpor. Low function inactivity. I will say the ones here are out and about in the 50βs though.
