This is the third post in a series following the chaos of the ‘clown brigade’, group of Spoonbills, flying into a marsh together.
The following photographs are part of the King Of The Hill antics Roseate Spoonbill are known for. In short it’s getting the highest branch while pushing and shoving each other.
This is also why most other reasonable birds just leave.
Below was typical, two birds on the same branch. Nothing doing but to push and shove each other.

Keep in mind these Spoonbill just flew in together, spent the morning in another tree with each other, but now it’s time to push for some reason.

One finally moves over.

The bird that leaves now has the fun of pushing another Spoonbill, who will go and push another…
Usually it goes in a circle until one gets made and bites, or they get bored.
Pretty pink clowns.
Very nice! They put on a great show 😊
We have seen them a lot recently. Each time is one of those shows.
Great series!
Thanks 😁😁
Love this action series!
With the number of opportunities they have been giving me I may need to change the name of the web site 😂😂. They have taken to resting in the same area all the time, in the open for plenty of shots with Spoonbill Antics 🤣. If I stay near home tomorrow maybe I can catch up with images.
