Swamps, plantations, and marshes are nearby to our house. It’s convenient to suddenly decide to grab gear and go shoot. We do it often which helps us know the animals to watch for, and where they prefer to be.
These shots are an example of knowing where to look.

Walking a trail along side a marsh there is a swamp area, covered by overhanging trees and moss. Small wading birds like the cover and can usually be found. The bigger issue is getting a clear shot through the dark ‘stuff’.

A Little Blue was here this day. We also find Night Herons, and Green Herons. Basically the smaller locals.
The water looks frozen, like they might be stuck in it.
It’s good ole fashion swamp water LOL. Green muck mixed with green ‘other stuff’ on top of green mud. 😂😂.
