Great Egrets are beautiful birds, and one of the most aggressive also. Unlike a Snowy which are loud and dramatic, the Great Egret is dangerous.

Below was a half hearted example. The one bird never saw the other coming from behind.

The bird being chased didn’t run off though. He moved sideways and then stood his ground.

Most always the battle is short lived. Loud, however unless it’s breeding time in a rookery they part within a second or two. Breeding time is another story.

Note; I noticed this about the same time as the other bird. I had to shoot towards the sun but I kept the series since it’s interesting.
