A few quick shots of some locals that almost ‘got away’.
First here is a Black-crowned Night Heron low over a swamp returning to the rookery nests. They have a new trick of soaking themselves in the water where you can’t see them until last minute.


Below a Great Egret took the high road, while I was looking low for the Night Herons.

None of the above are award winners, except the fact that I could watch these wild birds like this. For me that’s the win.
