Working my way through folders of images not published I keep coming across Wood Storks out in the big marshes at Donnelley WMA, ACE Basin.
The first photo below was taken on a day the larger marsh was very low. The dark muddy background is usually under water.

Below is the same day, a different spot. Here the water was still low, however the water was clearer. The big locals were also out in force. Strange thing about Alligators, at least the big ones. They want to be close to other super size critters. Not so true for the smaller Alligators. It’s not a good idea for them to hang with the big guys.

Interesting about gators’ swamp culture — (kind of like big fish vs small in the business world) 😉
Good description, and very true.
The title made me smile 🙂 It seems that Great Egrets sometime like to hang around with other birds. Great moments, especially the first one.
Some species will stay with others, like these, even the Snowy Egrets will at times. Thanks 😁😁
