This Egret showed up near the rookery and I abandoned the Great Blues.

All the thick grass, reeds, and cane made a nice backdrop. The bird stayed far enough away to be comfortable and could pay attention to hunting.

This is one of the first Egrets staying around the rookery. Pretty soon they will outnumber the Herons.
