A description that rarely comes to my mind. I had to check to be sure I had the Damp And Dank correct. It was the dank thing I was questioning.
‘Damp typically describes a slightly moist environment, whereas dank often describes a more humid and musty environment.‘
It fit this morning in the local swamp almost perfect. Dark would have been good in there too.
This was a day to stay home, but I have a new lens to test. A mid-sized zoom, 12-200 (24-400 OM System). If it gets anything decent in this place it’s a keeper.
The first shot below is really ‘dank’. The smooth green ground you see is water. That makes it dank.

A larger patch of dank below.

One of my Ibis buddies suddenly dropped down a few feet in front of me. Why would a wild wading bird do that, who knows. it’s an Ibis. After I caught my breath I had a chance for a quick shot before he left.

There’s always some vivid color around here on the trails. I did need to work to remove the grain/noise on this one.

Finally a little extra light came out. Not for long, yet there was some cloud movement up there.

First dark walk with the lens, no snap decisions. However, in it’s favor the lens is water resistant. This time around I’m making that a priority.
Photo of Damp and Dank perfectly captured!
😂, thank you. I might have webbed toes soon though 🤣🤣
No kidding right 🙂
