Dawn on the Intercoastal Waterway, North Carolina. A quick get away to photograph something different.
‘The Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) is a 3,000-mile (4,800 km) inland waterway along the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico coasts of the United States, running from Massachusetts southward along the Atlantic Seaboard and around the southern tip of Florida, then following the Gulf Coast to Brownsville, Texas. Some sections of the waterway consist of natural inlets, saltwater rivers, bays, and sounds, while others are artificial canals. It provides a navigable route along its length without many of the hazards of travel on the open sea.’ (Wikipedia)

I think this was the best color of any morning last week.

Each morning I tried to use a different lens for the first shots of the day. No particular reason, seemed like a good idea at the time.
Olympus 40-150 (r), OM-1
Beautiful shots, My favorite time of day. 🙂
Mine too, except for getting out early 😁. Here we were on the water for a week, just a ‘let’s go somewhere’ thing. Played with different lenses and had coffee 😆
Beautiful scene, Ted! Where is this? How did you guys fare with Helene?! (I’ve been away from blogging for some weeks and just catching up.)
Thanks.
The coast here, SC, NC, got a break. We did have trees down, short power out, etc. But really nothing. Inland is truly a disaster. Forget the ‘fake news’ stuff, but places we visit are gone. No way for them to prepare, mountains melted into mud. Help is there, yet things may never come back, it can’t. Climate is changing, even here water has been high all year, we check tides before going to the marshes.
BTW, this is the coast of NC, along the water way. Spent a week ‘hiding’. Hope all is well. Ted
These are beautiful Ted, I wish I had somewhere close to get nice dawn images.
Thank you very much. Close is the criteria for dawn photography. In this case several steps out back with coffee. A week on the coastal waterway. Now it’s back to dawn…and huge pines blocking everything. It certainly could be worse, I grew up with looking out at NYC alleyway 😂
