I usually follow along behind Ellen when we are wandering through fields and shooting various plants. Not something that excites me, but this was something very different. I had no idea there were so many different types.

These plants are truly special, with an impressive variety of colors. I recognize the species, but these particular ones are already quite large. I’ve also come across smaller versions here that resemble a hand—they can close around their prey, such as a fly, when it gets trapped.
There were a few of that species around too. I think there may be one on the link in this post. We were in this field at the end of the growing season.
