Even in the spoonbill world there’s one who wants to be in charge. Here he is squawking and causing trouble.
The others went about their business doing their best to ignore him.

Spoonbills don’t really make much of a sound, they cough. It’s not very intimidating.

Always nice to catch up with these guys! Do they remain around all winter?
Not usually. When we hit a cold snap most here will head down to northern Florida. Which is not far at all. I can have breakfast here and lunch in St. Augustine. It’s just enough far enough. We are at the location where we are warm most of the time but have one or two cold spells. Like tonight 🤣. Will be just at freezing for an hour or so.
We saw some wood ducks last week when it was milder. I hope they got off ok.
