I watched this Great Egret slide in and land along the marsh road. I was not even close to getting a shot. He came in fast and then was half hidden in the tall grass. It may be fall but the reeds and grass stay feet tall until mid winter.
I was heading in the direction the bird had landed but did not expect him to stay there. But he did.

When he took off I had only enough time for a few shots before the tall grass got in the way again.

It’s the slower time of year so in flight opportunities are nothing like the spring here. I’ll gladly take this one.
