Eye Of Providence

Eye Of Providence

The first Freemason lodge in Charleston was established in 1736, long before the US was a country.

Below the symbol of Freemasonry marks a cemetery area and burial plots for members of the Masonic Lodge, Charleston.

    1. I’ve always liked history, but since moving here much more so. We have gone out with various university historians here. Whats so different in Charleston is the historical locations are ‘touchable’. Some in their original condition, not behind glass or fences, and even family ties still strong. Near by is a small Anglican chapel, on plantation land still owned by the same family, and in preserved condition. It was built in 1725, now 300 years old. The let us photograph it, search on ‘Strawberry Chapel’ in the menu here. Stunning and fascinating.
