Random scenes here taken while heading back from a walk around old rice fields. The easiest route is past this old plantations gardens and houses. I keep a custom B&W function on the cameras just for situations like this, random shots on the fly. I only had a long lens but I’ve watched Ellen use her 100-400 like a landscape lens enough so maybe a little something has sunk in.

Below is the old wrought iron gazebo that I have shot numerous times over the years. Draped in Spanish Moss it always looks good.

There are old statues still around the small swamp and gardens. They are worn down by the weather but it gives them some character.

This is Charleston, which means there is wrought iron fencing and gates everywhere. Throw on a coat of black paint once in a while and they last forever.

A big white bridge crosses the long lake near this plantations big house. It’s become such an icon there is a replica in the Smithsonian museums in Washington DC. It seems anyone who gets married in Charleston must have photographs taken on the bridge. Sometimes an alligator floating nearby adds a little drama to the shot.
